Product Manuals - Instructions for Your Wheelchair
Now that your chair has been delivered, you may have questions about its operation and maintenance needs. Your wheelchair user manual covers essential usage, care, and features. A digital copy of your product model's specific user manual can be found in the directory below.

Patient Handbook
Upon delivery of your wheelchair, you should have received a patient handbook. This handbook includes essential information such as your rights and responsibilities, a list of key contacts, Rehab Medical’s warranty policy, helpful home safety tips, a patient satisfaction survey, and more. Please keep this handbook in a safe, accessible place for easy reference. If you didn’t receive a handbook or need a digital copy, you can view and download the digital copy by using the link below.

Troubleshooting any issues

AFTER 30 DAYS
After 30 days, all covered services will be billed to your insurance, and any non-covered services may require an out-of-pocket payment. Most insurance companies consider a service covered if:
-
The repair is needed to keep your equipment usable, or
-
A qualified technician with special skills or tools is required to complete the repair
ONGOING ASSESSMENT
If you have a progressive condition or complex positioning needs, you may need to be reassessed within your first year of delivery. By contacting our service center, we can help coordinate this process and make sure you get the support you need.

Requesting Service
Keeping your equipment in good shape plays a pivotal role in long-term support. If your equipment requires service or repair, Rehab Medical’s Service and Repair Team will first attempt to resolve and troubleshoot your chair’s issue over the phone.
Should further service be needed, a Service Technician will be scheduled to arrive at your home and test the equipment on site. When a wheelchair part needs to be replaced or repaired, Rehab Medical will work directly with your insurance provider for approval of the repair costs. If insurance does not cover the repair costs, you may have the option to upgrade if your wheelchair is older than 5 years. Repairs are then completed on site.
If repairs require ordering new parts or replacing items, rendering the equipment inoperable, Rehab Medical may provide you with a loaner chair in the meantime.
Our dedicated service team is available Monday-Friday 9 AM-5 PM (ET). Contact our service center at 866-424-4500 or submit a service request form for any service needs.

Wheelchair Maintenance Tips
Getting the most use out of your power wheelchair generally comes down to keeping it maintained and in good condition. We’ve partnered with some of the nation’s top wheelchair manufacturers to provide you with a simple guide on how to properly care for your wheelchair.
Recommended Equipment Maintenance Routine:
-
Daily Maintenance: Check that all switches, buttons, and toggles are operating and functioning properly. Charge batteries for 8-14 hours every night within the first three months of receiving your equipment (for more information on how to properly charge batteries refer to our guide on how to service your equipment).
-
Monthly Maintenance: Inspect for wear and tear damages. Ensure connections are secure. Check for loose wires.
-
Periodical Maintenance: Ensure motors and batteries are clean and free from corrosion, moisture, or dirt. Check for excessive noise like clicking or grinding.

5 Year Renewals
Many insurance providers consider the lifespan of medical equipment to be five years due to normal wear and tear, making you potentially eligible for an upgrade at that time.
As you approach your 5-year mark, we will send you a letter letting you know of your eligibility and steps to take to upgrade your equipment. If you express interest in upgrading your equipment, we will work promptly and diligently as we did with your current wheelchair to get you the best mobility solution for your unique needs covered by your insurance.
