Rehab Medical, one of the nation’s leading providers of complex rehab technology (CRT), announced that Dejon Gary, the company’s regional sales director for the Great Lakes, was awarded WTWH Healthcare’s Future Leaders in Complex Rehab Technology Award. This award recognizes exceptional professionals aged 40 and under who are shaping the future of healthcare, including the seating and custom mobility industry. Recipients were selected based on three leadership characteristics identified by WTWH Healthcare judges: mission and advocacy, ethics and professionalism, and innovative spirit.
“The Future Leaders Class of 2026 reflects a strong, collective commitment to improving the well-being of the individuals and communities they serve,” said Tim Mullaney, VP and editorial director of WTWH Healthcare. “These leaders are elevating patient experiences, supporting caregivers and driving innovation across the care continuum. Their dedication to excellence sets them apart, and their influence will continue to shape the future of healthcare.”
As a resident of Indianapolis, Gary has directly provided life-improving mobility solutions to more than 500 residents. He’s also brought together clinical care teams across Indiana and Illinois to design the best care plans for mobility users and elevated the CRT industry standards by developing the careers of more than 50 CRT professionals.
With more than a decade of professional experience, Gary has dedicated his career to advancing access to appropriate mobility solutions. He has successfully built, scaled, and stabilized multiple markets simultaneously, including rebuilding a Chicago market during a leadership vacancy while maintaining responsibility for two Indianapolis regions. His hands-on commitment, including weekly travel to Chicago, enabled him to cultivate a fully staffed, high-performing office with improved workflows, engagement, and patient experience.
“His leadership extends beyond individual performance; he builds cultures where advocacy, collaboration with therapists, and long-term patient outcomes take precedence over speed or convenience,” said Jason Neu, Rehab Medical regional VP of sales and certified Assistive Technology Professional.
Gary’s passion for improving patient outcomes goes beyond his professional achievements. He actively advances the industry through community involvement, participation in health fairs, and attending disease-specific advocacy walks. As an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP), he uses this unique skill to help bridge gaps between clinical knowledge and business leadership to improve access, outcomes, and industry credibility.
“Dejon consistently demonstrates sound judgment, even in complex or high-pressure situations, and models the kind of ethical leadership that elevates organizational culture,” said Michael Sullivan, MSD Warren Township’s assistant superintendent and long-time mentor for Gary. “His consistent emphasis on integrity has resulted in sustainable growth, strong referral relationships, and a culture where ethical behavior is not merely encouraged but expected.”
Gary’s recognition highlights Rehab Medical’s continued commitment to developing leaders who advance patient care and innovation across the healthcare industry. Award winners will be featured in upcoming WTWH Healthcare publications and invited to participate in future in-person WTWH Healthcare conferences.
