Patrick McGinley Named 2022 Midwest Entrepreneur of the Year Award Winner

Patrick McGinley, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Rehab Medical, was awarded the 2022 Midwest Entrepreneur of the Year award earlier this month. Out of 34 nominees, only nine influential leaders were chosen. According to EY.com, the Entrepreneur of the Year award is the world’s most prestigious business awards program for unstoppable entrepreneurs. It celebrates entrepreneurs through regional and national awards programs in more than 145 cities in over 60 countries.

Since 1986, EY has existed to build a better working world, helping create long-term value for clients, people, and society and build trust in the capital markets. Ram Ramanan, Midwest Program Direct shares, “Each of these entrepreneurs have persevered to make their visions become a reality, and I have no doubt that they will benefit from and serve as valuable members of our global Entrepreneur of the Year community.”

For nearly two decades, McGinley has strategically built an organization that not only focuses on bettering the lives of the people his company serves but also on bettering the lives of the people his company employs. But McGinley doesn’t solely contribute winning this award to the success of Rehab Medical, he contributes winning this award to the success of his broader company Rehab Industries. Due to the success of two other companies McGinley manages, he built a network of companies all designed to achieve one mission: #ImproveLives. Rehab Industries has been around for about two years, and it encompasses Rehab Medical, Cork Medical, and Forza Commercial Real Estate.

By winning this award McGinley not only sees this as an achievement for himself but a victory for the Rehab Industries network.

“It’s an exciting reward for Rehab Medical but I don’t believe I would have won it without the added success of my two other companies, Cork Medical, and Forza Commercial Real Estate," said McGinley.

"Rehab Medical has had tremendous growth in the last five years, resulting in the company becoming the third largest Complex Rehab Technology (CRT) provider in the nation. To be recognized by peers for this achievement was truly an honor because it showcases the great company we have built and validates all the good we do within the Rehab Industries network of companies.”

Being the CEO of Rehab Medical has greatly impacted McGinley’s life; he adds that due to his compassion, hard work, and drive to improve lives it was a rewarding experience to witness Rehab Medical grow from 150 employees to 450 employees in roughly 10 years. McGinley also states he’s humbled to have been able to help create 300 additional jobs for working-class citizens and aided in the promotions of more than 100 employees through leadership development strategies.

Success and the heart of a flourishing company begin with nurturing its employees. In fact, a current employee states,

“I could not have asked for a better group to work with! Upper management, President, CEO, Director of Sales, HR, honestly go above and beyond. They are each very accessible and only a phone call away from giving us guidance and advice to be a better rep…great culture!”

A company excels when its employees excel. To McGinley, the same recipe for success is essential. “I wanted to build a company where employees could say they are proud to call it their company and know they are making a difference in not just the lives of the people they help but their own lives as well.”

McGinley believes it is the company’s mission to set the pace in the industry and the standard of how to care for a patient. "If we set the pace of how a patient should be treated, our competitors will have to follow. Continuing to focus our efforts on technology and innovation, will allow us to deliver equipment faster, provide better quality service, and improve our operational excellence. This is what excites me every day to come to work.”

Rehab Medical has won multiple prestigious awards including Indianapolis Business Journal’s Top 25 Fastest-Growing Private Companies, the Inc 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies in America, and Best Places to Work in Indiana. And is now home to one of the best leaders in the Midwest region, but of all the awards and accomplishments Rehab Medical has received, McGinley states the best award is being a top-rated workplace in the state of Indiana. He goes on to say no award comes close to having employees nominate a company as the best place to work for two consecutive years because it’s a true testament to the culture McGinley has worked so hard to build over the last 10 years.

The organization serves more than 1,000 new mobility users monthly and has helped more than 250,000 mobility users regain their mobility freedom. McGinley will now go on to compete in the national EY World Entrepreneur of the year award in June 2023. In the meantime, check out the EY.com page for more information.
