GET MOVING WITH OPERATION MOBILITY FREEDOM
More than 18 million individuals suffer from a mobility issue and nearly 40% of those individuals are 65 and older. While this number steadily increases, Rehab Medical is teaming up with Freedom Chairs, in support of National Mobility Awareness month, to host Operation Mobility Freedom through the Month of May.
Operation Mobility Freedom is a unique event designed to increase awareness for Indiana residents facing growing mobility challenges and offer additional opportunities to those with a condition that qualifies them for a custom mobility solution.
Since the mid-2000's, Freedom Chairs has been serving Indiana’s mobility users by providing them with free, slightly used mobility solutions if they have struggled to receive new equipment through insurance. By merging resources provided by Rehab Medical and Freedom Chairs, Operation Mobility Freedom offers Indiana mobility users two unique options that caters to their specific needs.

MORE ABOUT FREEDOM CHAIRS
HELPING YOU RECLAIM YOUR MOBILITY FREEDOM
As a sophomore in high school, Freedom Chairs founder Tim Balz noticed a fellow student laboring with an inadequate manual wheelchair. He could tell the student truly needed an electronic wheelchair, so Tim sprung to action to offer his assistance. His first step was trading his moped scooter for a broken electric wheelchair. Next, he repaired the wheelchair back to working order and donated it to the student in need. This commitment to providing those in need with access to mobility solutions spurred the concept behind Freedom Chairs.
Since the initial wheelchair flip, Freedom Chairs has given away more than 150 wheelchairs, various pieces of medical equipment, and more. The non-profit organization prides itself on never denying a person in need through its mission to provide the freedoms of mobility to all those struggling to find it. Although Freedom Chairs primarily offers support to those in Indiana, its partnerships worldwide allow potential mobility solutions in other states and even internationally.
